What is Affiliate Advertisment and how does it work?
Well,basically it's a contract with an online shop,that pays you for your help in selling their products.You just have to place their product adds on your page or promote these products and suggest your visitors on buying them and for every sell that the company makes when the customers buy it through your link,you get part of the money that they get.It's usually not much,about 5-15% (depends on the company and the product that you're refering your visitors to,also it rises with the number of sales that you do).
How to start and what company to use?
To start first you have to have a website/blog,where you would show your adds or review the products and start making money.Then you have to find a company that you like and that you think your visitors would trust.The most known and at the same time the most trustworthy is Amazon.com which has an enormous amount of products in all categories:books,electronics,music,art etc.Of course there are a lot of other similar companies that you can find by typing "Affiliate program" or something similar in the search engines,but this one is the leader for all of the others,that's why I'll now use it as a demonstration.
Registration and configuration
So now that we've selected a company,we have to register our account.Go to "Amazon Associates" page to start.At the right side you'll see a blue button that says "Join now for FREE".Click it and you should be in a registration page.Follow their given steps,fill out all the given forms and you should register in no time.When your done log in to your account.You will be directed to the main page where you should see the "Quickly Add Links" section.Use it for searching the product that you want to sell.When you've found what you were looking for,read the description of it,see if it attracts your eye and when you'll want to add it,click the "Get link" button,as shown here:
You should then be directed to configuration screen where you can change the type of your add,the colors and all that.When you've finished configuring it,you should see your adds HTML code bellow.Copy it to your site where you want it to be and that's it!You're done.If you didn't understand something,go to "Get Started Now" for a detailed information how to use Amazon properly.Well,that's about it.This method will help you reach a pretty nice income if you'll put some job and time into it.I'm sorry to say that there aren't (well,we haven't found) any scam proof systems that would help you boost your income stream with affiliation,but if you looked into the depths of the internet I'm sure that you would find tip sites that would help you at the start.So,good luck with your little business.Martin
